In vivo Pharmacology

We provide a wide array of behavioral assays eventually in combination with microdiaysis and PK in order to generate an optimal proof of target engagement

Anxiety/Depression

  • Forced Swim Test
  • Tail Suspension Test
  • Light/Dark Box

Cognition

  • Novel Object Recognition (Natural Forgetting, Scopolamine Induced Deficits, Phencyclidine Induced Deficits)
  • Contextual Fear Conditioning

Motor Activity/Coordination

  • Home Cage Locomotor Activity
  • Open Field Test
  • Rotorod
  • Grip Strength

Psychosis/Mania

  • Apomorphine Rearing/Climbing
  • Psychostimulant Induced Locomotion

Disease Models

  • 6-hydroxydopamine Parkinson's Model
  • Quinolinic Acid Huntington's Model
  • Sub-chronic Phencyclidine

Given our expertise in microdialysis, all behavioral studies can be coupled to in vivo neurotransmitter monitoring via traditional microdialysis or with the use of biosensors.

Next to this set of behavioral assays, we have access to valuable proof of concept models in various therapeutic areas in our academic network in Groningen.
